Sully's Info
My name is Solomon Claussen, also known as “Sully,” and I am working toward becoming a professional pilot and eventually a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). Flight training is expensive, often costing between 80,000 and 100,000 dollars before reaching the level required to fly for major airlines. Instead of waiting or making excuses, I decided to take ownership of the process and fund it myself.
I started my window washing business with one clear purpose. Every job brings me one step closer to the cockpit. This is not just about cleaning windows. It is about discipline, work ethic, and building something from the ground up to pay for my flight hours.
My goal is to become a CFI and help train the next generation of pilots who have big dreams but need guidance to achieve them. Until then, I am documenting the journey and doing whatever it takes to turn this goal into reality.
Every window I clean helps fund my future in the sky.
Support my future even farther
A birthday flight in Knoxville sparked my dream of becoming a pilot and now I am doing everything I can to make it real. I work at Casey’s and run my own window washing business, putting every dollar I earn toward flight training.
The biggest obstacle right now is the cost. Donations go directly toward my Part 61 flight training hours, instructor time, aircraft rental, and required certifications. Every contribution helps me log the hours I need and move one step closer to earning my wings.
